Our business spans the entire process, from scripting to production, live video, animation, rendering and publishing. Worried your ad might not pass the government appraisal? Hightower’s TV commercial production process
It is easy to build a brand people can love and trust through great television advertising. To convert audiences into customers, likability is important for any brand. Winning consumers’ hearts is a lot easier when your brand has a strong appeal. At Hightower, our clever and funny video ads make brands likable. Our industry connections include writers, media buyers, planners and expert producers. We specialise in producing video adverts from conception to air date. Here is a summary of our production process:
You can submit any briefs you may have for video ideas via email or contact us directly. Our producer usually starts by assigning the project to an art director. The creative director (CD) will pick out the defining parts of your brief and develop a concept. The concept will be made to fit the message of your video. The AD will assign a scriptwriter to create some video scripts for the project. After scripting, you will be asked to select the script with the most corresponding message for your business. Having selected a script, a storyboard artist will draw the plot on a visual board. It is easier to produce a video ad when you illustrate it first. From storyboarding, the producer starts on the timetable of events and draws up a budget.
Making the video
We may decide to shoot in a studio, or a location or both, depending on project terms. Shoots may last days or weeks, even for simple 30 or 60 second adverts because of the usual filming complications. Notwithstanding, our customers are guaranteed a project that will be delivered before deadline.
At this stage, we give the rushes (raw footage) to the post-production department. The raw footage will be used by an editor to build a suitable narrative. They will also ensure that the visuals are crisp, clear and digitally well-rendered. Then the graphics and animation team will add some finesse to the video. The range and scale of graphics that will be put into the advert will depend on the budget size and the type of product or service. We have a solid music library for your sound score. Our sound engineer will purchase legitimate music that suits your video. However, if you wish, we can compose a song specifically for your video ad. Finally, we’ll hire a voice-over talent to complete the advert with a befitting narration that sells the idea/message, just the way you like it. If you want high definition quality, we doubt you would find any in Surrey Quays as crisp as Hightower videos. Plus, our videos guarantee good return on investment, in sales. Frequently asked question
We usually get enquiries from customers about our operations. Here is a compilation of our most asked questions:
Don’t TV ads cost a fortune?
Yes, not too long ago, TV ads were costly, but things are different now. Given the multiple channel options available with modern satellite (and even terrestrial) TV, you have higher negotiating power to bargain for a media slot. In addition, our adaptable production techniques make it easier to customise quality videos to match your budget.
Do you give discounted rates if I bring an original idea?
This is relative, but on a case by case basis. Creatives at Hightower are always willing to brainstorm ideas with clients. Nevertheless, suggesting ideas is just an arm of creativity. Aspects of production such as scripting, storyboarding, project management, acting, and editing make add to the pricing.
Can I select any celebrity I want?
You can if you want, provided you can afford it. You should note however, that an unfit celebrity can affect the success of your video. While a celebrity may be popular, they might not have the right persona for your brand. Hiring a less popular talent will cost less and may even do a better job for your video.
We offer a perfect combination of creativity and production, with in-house resources. Rest assured, we don’t hire third-party workers. We help you to maximise your budget by taking full responsibility for every part of the project. In Surrey Quays, we’ve built a reputation for producing world-class videos and TV adverts. Our client lists include Tesco, Aecom, Hitachi, Santander, Maxell, SanDisk and more. Visit our work page to see some of our award-winning TVC ads.
